Is It A Good Idea To Place A Sink Or Cooking Surface In A Kitchen Island?
Kitchen islands are all the rage but a small kitchen island of 6' or less poses some interesting challenges. Experience teaches me a 6' island is too small for the placement of a 24" sink or cook top. The sink or appliance is usually placed in the middle and doesn't allow enough room for staging around it. I still don't like the idea of a cooktop in the middle but an innovative product and idea has developed that may change that. Now you can place a sink on the end of the island and still have lots of room around it for staging.
