New, Child, Tamper Proof Electrical Outlets, That Some Say Are Adult Proof Too!
In 2008 the National Electrical Code changed. It requires the installation of new tamper proof outlets. It’s designed to stop children from inserting object into outlets and receiving a shock. Unfortunately, like most change it takes a little time to get use to the new technology. You just can’t stick a plug into the outlet the same way as in the past.
